Welcome to
Devonshire Quarter

The work to complete the once-in-a-generation transformation is moving ahead at great pace and saw the completion of The Congress Theatre in March 2019.

This £54 million transformation will put Eastbourne on the map as a top cultural, sporting and conference destination offering first class facilities for both residents and visitors. The Congress Theatre auditorium has had a 1680 seat renovation with new technical and temperature provision. The first major concert in the new Congress Theatre took place on 24 March by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. When the Congress Theatre opened 56 years ago, the inaugural concert was by the LPO so it is most fitting that we welcomed them back again for this landmark performance.

The Welcome Building and superb conferencing facilities are completed which has had many bookings already and outside the groundwork on the new public plaza has now been finished. Part of the development includes new Exhibition Halls linked to auditorium spaces and new café overlooking grass courts.

Please explore this website to see why this project is hugely exciting for the town and key to its long-term prosperity.
